KRUPS EA9010 Key Features
The Krups EA9010 has a touchpad control that allows you to select the beverage you want to enjoy. You can select a number of drinks, including espresso, a red eye, café latte, or just plain coffee. There are six main categories, and you choose from there the exact drink that you want. There is even a favorites menu so that you can program your favorite coffee beverages into the machine and touch fewer buttons to get your coffee. You don’t have to be a barista to enjoy these drinks with this machine. Touch the button, and the machine does the rest.
This espresso maker also features a burr bean grinder. Most coffee connoisseurs prefer burr grinders because they create more uniform grounds. The beans are ground when the coffee is made, allowing for the freshest possible cup of coffee. If you have a pre-ground coffee that you enjoy, fear not. The Krups EA9010 also has an option for adding coffee grounds to make your perfect cup of coffee.
One of the better features of this machine is that it is self-cleaning. It has a variety of features to help keep maintenance to a minimum. However, you will still need to empty the drip tray frequently. Occasional deep cleaning is required as well. For the most part, however, you will be able to enjoy cup after cup of coffee with minimal effort.
Setting up the Krups EA9010 requires more than plugging it in, adding water and grounds, and pushing a button. When you first set up the machine it will have you test your water for hardness. The machine then has you enter information using the touch pad so that adjustments can be made to the brewing features to compensate for water hardness. The machine also comes with a filter for creating better water quality.
There is relatively low maintenance with this machine, but it does require a lot of emptying of trays. The frothing wand cleans itself, and the cup you put milk in actually rinses as well. However, the trays for the disposal water from this automatic cleaning are shallow, and fill up quickly. You’ll need to make frequent trips to the sink to empty these trays if you use the coffee maker quite often. However, a quick dump and rinse is a lot better than manually cleaning the machine itself.
Occasionally you will want to do a thorough cleaning of the product. However, this is also very easy to do. There are several doors on the product that open to reveal the filter, water canister, frothing wand, and other features. Simply pull them out and give them a good rinse, and you’ll be ready to go.
